You can vote in person during early voting. Early voting will be held from Thursday, May 2, 2024 through Thursday, May 9, 2024. Early voting centers will be open from 7 am to 8 pm. For more info go to elections.maryland.gov

Come meet with like-minded individuals who are committed to making our wonderful community stronger, more cohesive, more accepting of differences, and more welcoming of others. Come work on strategies to build a more vibrant local economy that lifts up the standard of living for folks who keep the county vibrant, safe and moving forward, but still earn far less than the state average and to help those workers, farmers and small businesses to be heard by both political parties in Annapolis. Who We Are

Garrett County is a “red” county in the very “blue” state of Maryland. Here, we Democrats are outnumbered by Republicans about 4 to 1. However, we have an important voice in our community and work hard to be heard. We are represented by two organizations: the Garrett County Democratic Central Committee, which is the party’s official local representative, and the Garrett County Democratic Club, an active social organization open to all Democrats and those who affiliate with us.

Central Committee & Club Working Together

The Garrett County Democratic Central Committee and the Garrett County Democratic Club are partners. They collaborate in organizing the Democrats in our community and arranging activities to involve, organize, and lend voice to those who believe in the values of the Democratic Party. Together they support Democratic candidates at the local, state and federal levels that represent Garrett County. Both organizations also provide social and political activities that bring like-minded individuals together.

UPCOMING EVENTS

1st Thursday

The garrett County Democratic Club meets monthly on the first thursday at 7:00 PM

Dem Club meetings are presently being held on Zoom. Typically, there is a speaker on an important topic of concern to all Democrats, followed by a Club business meeting. All are welcomed to attend, although only Club Members are allowed to vote on issues that come before the Club. Details about current and future meetings are available on the Club’s Facebook page.

Last Monday

The garrett County Democratic Central Committee meets monthly on the last MOnday at 4:00 PM

All are welcome to attend to learn about Democratic Central Committee initiatives and upcoming events, although only Committee members are eligible to vote on business brought before the Committee. Meetings are being held on Zoom. Details about upcoming meetings and events can be found by emailing gcdemcc@gmail.com.

The Western Maryland Demacratic Summit at Rocky Gap on April 13th

as a resounding success. It was sold out and very well attended. The candidates for Senate and the 6th Congressional District all spoke as well as the Governor, Lt Governor and many others including Senator Cardin. Thanks to all that help make this a successful event.

We create momentum when Democrats connect with other Democrats and work together. Meetings are held monthy, and events are scheduled through out the year. Please attend as often as you can!
